Franchisee Focus: Matt & Jeni Smith

With the Rosati name firmly established in the Chicago suburbs, generations of mid-westerners have grown up with the brand and continue to spread its legend to every corner of the country. Transplanted Chicagoans all over the map have helped to bring their favorite pizzeria franchise to 150+ locations across twenty states.

Pizza Brings People Together

Rosati’s knows food brings people together and sparks conversation at the table. Matt and Jeni Smith in Cumming, Georgia felt there was a need for traditional Chicago pizza in their community as the Atlanta area has a lot of transplanted Chicagoans. They opened the doors on October 22, 2014 and have made Rosati’s a home for their customers.

“You may be in Cumming, Georgia, but step into our Rosati’s Pizza and Sports Pub and you will walk into a Chicago sports bar. Most of the hometown teams are represented with flags and memorabilia… Blackhawks, Cubs, Bears and White Sox. We are also proud supporters of our local teams such as the Atlanta United, Falcons and Braves.” – The Smiths

Being part of the Rosati family has given Matt and Jeni the advantage of being creative with new ways to bring people in their doors and keep them coming back. With the structure Rosati’s Franchising offers for operating and growing the business, the Smiths are able to focus on day-to-day operations with assistance from the corporate office.

Treating You Like Family Every Step of the Way

Before Matt and Jeni Smith opened their restaurant doors, they received in-store training from Rosati’s corporate office and were able to spend two weeks in Temecula, California in another Rosati’s Pizza and Sports Pub. With the hands-on training the Smiths received in Temecula from fellow franchisees, Steve and Angie, there were multiple opportunities for questions and troubleshooting.

Six years later, the Smiths are still learning from other business owners and look to the corporate office for guidance when experiencing growing pains. They have found, though, that the sports pub business model is successful because they are not limited to a particular brewery, liquor, etc. Their customers love to sample local breweries and the ever-changing craft beer selections.

Each and every day, they are surprised at how many Chicagoans are brought together in their town because of pizza, beer and sports. Rosati’s in Cumming is a full-service bar with 56 beers on tap, TVs wall to wall, roughly 240 seats and an outdoor patio.

roll up their sleeves and jump in.” – The Smiths
